Changes to how you buy tickets online

From 4 pm today, (Monday 28 January) we’ll be changing the way you buy tickets online for the better. The National Museum of the Royal Navy, has grown to encompass 14 different attractions across the UK. To reflect this, we’re making two distinct changes to how our ticketing system operates online.

When you next visit the Portsmouth Historic Dockyard website, you'll notice that we’re now co-branded with The National Museum of the Royal Navy. This means, wherever you’re online, you can be confident knowing who you’re buying your tickets from.

All other National Museum sites, excluding Portsmouth Historic Dockyard, The Royal Navy Submarine Museum and Explosion Museum will be branded as The National Museum of the Royal Navy only.

These sites include HMS Caroline, Fleet Air Arm Museum and The National Museum of the Royal Navy Hartlepool. We believe this will help you understand where you're buying their tickets from and for what attraction.

This change will also impact those wanting to buy National Membership from The National Museum of the Royal Navy online. If you live near or plan on visiting one of our sites over the next few days, you can purchase National Membership on the day of your visit.

We're also making a set of exciting new changes to better your experience online:

  • A better experience on mobile devices when buying tickets
  • Appropriate branding which matches the site you're buying for
  • Cleaner design across all platforms and browsers

We’ll let you know once this has been completed. If you plan to visit us over the next few days, you can purchase tickets from the visitor centre or after the update has been completed. Thank you for bearing with us during these exciting changes.
