HMS Caroline says ‘Thank You’ to National Lottery players.

This December, HMS Caroline is opening its doors for free to all National Lottery players as a way of saying thank you for their support.

From 3rd to 9th December, HMS Caroline will be taking part in the National Lottery’s ‘thanks to you’ campaign, where they will be offering free entry on board the ship to anyone with a valid lottery ticket or scratch card.

Visitors both old and new can explore the ship’s new Dockside Museum in the Pump House before hopping on board to experience impressively recreated historic spaces and an array of interactive exhibits.

All visitors need to do is present a valid lottery ticket or scratch card to HMS Caroline’s Dockside Museum and they will be given free admission on board this unique survivor.

Over the past few years, HMS Caroline has benefited from funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund, National Heritage Memorial Fund, Tourism Northern Ireland and the Department for the Economy.

This invaluable contribution has enabled the ship to be restored to its former 1914 glory, and produced a regenerated dockside complete with free car parking, children’s playpark and refurbished Dockside Museum.

HMS Caroline’s General Manager Jamie Wilson says ‘The Heritage Lottery Fund has generously donated over £11.5m to HMS Caroline.  We are so proud of our restoration and we want to welcome National Lottery players on board to say thank you for buying a lottery ticket and contributing towards our restoration.”

The fun doesn’t stop there, as well as visiting HMS Caroline, National Lottery ticket holders can also receive free access to other sites run by The National Museum of the Royal Navy, such as Portsmouth Historic Dockyard, Fleet Air Arm Museum and The National Museum of the Royal Navy Hartlepool.
