Private tours can be booked exclusively, either as a standalone experience, as part of a large group visit, or added to private event hire.
Exclusive After-Hours Tour: HMS Alliance
Step aboard HMS Alliance for a private, one-hour guided tour outside of regular opening hours. Led by an expert guide, this immersive experience offers exclusive insights into the ship’s remarkable history.
Availability: Anytime Monday & Tuesday | Wednesday – Sunday 5pm – 6pm
Group size: 2–12 guests
Price: £300 flat fee, plus an additional £18pp
VIP Fish & Chips Experience
Begin your exclusive day with refreshments in our John Fieldhouse Building, where you'll be welcomed by your personal guide – a knowledgeable ex-submariner with stories and insights you won’t hear anywhere else.
Your private tour begins with a 30-minute exploration of the Submarine Museum, followed by a 45-minute guided experience aboard HMS Alliance – the UK’s only remaining WWII-era ocean-going submarine.
To complete your voyage, dine like a submariner in the original Junior Rates Mess onboard HMS Alliance. Enjoy traditional fish and chips, served with a side salad, mushy peas, and your choice of drink.

You can access our museum by car and if using a satnav device, please use the address: Haslar Road, Gosport PO12 2AS
Polite notice: Whilst the postcode is correct, satnavs may direct you to the centre of the naval base. Please follow tourism signs for the Submarine Museum once you've entered Gosport
By boat:
Gosport Ferry offer regular ferry service between Gosport and Portsmouth
Public transport:
The nearest train station is Fareham, which is then a short taxi ride to our venue. Alternatively, you can alight at Portsmouth Harbour and get the Gosport Ferry
Walking:
You are able to walk between the Explosion Museum and the Submarine Museum both located in Gosport. Please note however that this is a 2 mile walk and will take roughly 40 minutes.
