The National Museum of the Royal Navy Hartlepool and The Link Project presents The South Asian Heritage Festival
This July, set sail for the National Museum of the Royal Navy Hartlepool for an incredible experience the whole family can enjoy and kids go free* for one day only!

Get ready for a fantastic day full of music, dance, food and history. Families can explore HMS Trincomalee, the last remaining Royal Navy ship to be built in India, and experience South Asian culture brought to life on the historic dockside with dance classes, Henna painting and Indian cuisine. Don’t forget to stop by and try on some colourful Saris to get immersed in the vibrant atmosphere!

If you are interested in history you can also take one of our curator talks and learn more about the ship’s Indian heritage. Families can take part in hands-on family friendly activities such as paper boat making, or experience storytelling in a beautiful painted van.
