Armed Forces Day

Against all odds: rain, thunder and lightning, Natalia from the Fundraising Team and two amazing volunteers  - Ray and Steve, loyally stood by the "100" commemorative sign of the Battle of Jutland to celebrate Armed Forces Day 2016 at Portsmouth Historic Dockyard.

A huge thank you to every person that joined Saturday’s festivities despite the rain and enjoyed the few sunny spells in between. We were really touched by your generosity and by how many people have put the poppies on the 100 sign as a symbolic gesture of remembrance. Your contributions totalled £200.46 and will allow us continue telling the stories of the people who served and still serve in the Royal Navy today.

The day would not have been the same without the bands, dancers and performers who brought a lot of energy and fun into the celebrations!
