Honouring Our Heroes: Telling Their Stories

For over 360 years the Royal Marines have embodied service to our nation. The iconic green beret is more than a badge of honour: it is a symbol of grit and determination. From the decks of HMS Victory to the challenging terrain of modern conflict zones, Royal Marines have earned their reputation as one of the world's most versatile and respected military forces. Their story is one of extraordinary courage, selfless sacrifice, and unwavering dedication to duty. It is a story of heroes who have faced unimaginable danger and loss while serving their country.

Now, their incredible history is on the edge of finding a new home on Portsmouth Historic Dockyard.  With your support, the Royal Marines Experience will honour our heroes by telling their story, inspiring recognition and remembrance.

See what the Museum means to the Royal Marines

The story of the Royal Marines deserves to be told. At the Royal Marines Experience, modern technology will meet historic artefacts to create an unprecedented visitor journey. For generations, Royal Marines have been on the frontline of conflict across the world, and they continue to serve in the harshest and most volatile environments. They face significant physical and mental challenges: many will suffer setbacks through training, work in hugely demanding environments, and some face life-changing injuries and arduous rehabilitation. Their service is marked by sacrifice, resilience, and quiet courage. This profound story of human endeavour is at the heart of the new museum, creating a space for recognition and remembrance.

After centuries of service and sacrifice, it is time to create a new spiritual home for the Royal Marines. Join us as we raise the final £2.5M to honour our heroes and tell their story. Donate today.
