This February join us for a unique stargazing experience that explores the wonders of the night sky while connecting astronomy to navigation, exploration, and Royal Navy history.

This February we are teaming up with Amazelab to bring you an incredible family workshop all about stargazing. Whether you’re a young stargazer, a family looking for a great day out or you just want to learn more about space and history, the National Museum of the Royal Navy Hartlepool has something for everyone!

So, join us for an unforgettable day as we journey across the skies and you discover how the stars have guided explorers, inspired dreams, and shaped our understanding of the universe.  In a variety of hands on workshops and activities you can:

  • Discover more about skies above us and how humans have used the stars to navigate the seven seas
  • Get creative as you make constellation light jars.
  • Find out more about well-known star patterns and learn the myths and science behind them .
  • Learn about the movement of planets and the structure of our solar system in family friendly way.
  • Put your knowledge to the test in a star themed challenge as you identify constellations, predict star positions, or design your own imaginative star patterns.
