Explore history where it happened! Join us and the NI War Memorial Museum as we explore how the Belfast Blitz impacted Belfast and the Dockside.

Join us for a powerful after-hours experience that brings Belfast’s wartime story to life, from the docks and factories to the decks of one of the Royal Navy’s most historic ships.

The evening which marks 85 years since the Belfast Blitz features a compelling illustrated talk from the NI War Memorial, exploring the Dockside and Fire Raids and their devastating impact on Belfast’s industry, in the very place where it happened and on board a ship that was actually there.

Discover how the Blitz shaped the city’s docks and key workplaces such as Harland & Wolff, Shorts, and Alexandra Works,!

You’ll then be introduced to the remarkable history of HMS Caroline before getting hands-on with the past at our Object Handling Table. Examine authentic artefacts from the NI War Memorial handling collection alongside original First World War items linked to Caroline.

As the evening continues, explore the ship itself with exclusive mini guided tours, taking you through spaces such as the Captain’s Quarters, Ward Room, Marines’ Mess, Engine Room, and Sick Bay. Tours are led by our knowledgeable guides, bringing each space vividly to life.
