Terry Powell – RN Mine Clearance Divers in Gulf War One
Terry Powell, an SBS Sergeant attached to the elite Mine Clearance Divers Team tasked to support US forces because “we came up with the best plan” to conduct beach mine clearing ready for assaulting troops.
Terry said the FAA helicopter crews had the same mindset as ourselves and invaluable in getting us where we were needed to get the work done. “Absolutely marvellous guys with, dare I say it, a like minded approach and sense of humour, and boy did we all need it”.
