Royal Navy Submarine Museum Venue Hire

Royal Navy Submarine Museum

The Royal Navy Submarine Museum is home to HMS Alliance, the newly refurbished World War 2 era submarine, as well as Holland 1 the very first Royal Navy Submarine. Here you can host your event in the futuristic looking John Fieldhouse Building that holds the Royal Navy Submarine Museum collection of submariner related artefacts and art, or you can opt for on-board the awe-inspiring HMS Alliance herself.

The John Fieldhouse Building can host up to 120 people for a sit down meal, 150 theatre style seated lecture or talk, 200 people for stand up reception or exhibition.  To one side of the venue there is HMS X24 which guests are welcome to view and on the other is a 180 degree panorama across the marina and Portsmouth Harbour towards the magnificent Spinnaker Tower, a beautiful view especially when lit at night.

Events can be held with live music or a DJ and guests can have tours of HMS Alliance. Welcome drinks can be served on our jetty looking up at HMS Alliance and out across the water.  This is a beautiful place to celebrate with its mix of peaceful waterside setting with the powerful engineering of yesteryear. A place that will appeal across the generations this is a great venue to host parties, weddings and training sessions as well as awards ceremonies and lectures. A unique setting to impress your guests.

Meetings and conferences can be held in The Mier’s Room in Torbay building and can host up to 30 people. There is Wi-Fi, natural lighting, audio visual equipment and refreshments available.

HMS Alliance can also host intimate dinners of 2 to 12 people in the range of messes on board.

For children we have a venue elsewhere onsite called Busy Boats Bay, this has a play area with a yellow submarine and a pirate ship, which can be hired out for birthday parties and children’s groups.
