Book Your Visit

Book your visit

We are introducing a new way of welcoming you to the National Museum of the Royal Navy across all of our sites, so we have created some guidelines so you fully understand how to visit us when we re-open.

Expired Tickets and Ticket Extensions

If your ticket has expired during the time that we have been closed, or you have a ticket that was purchased prior to our temporary closure and is still valid, we are adding an extension to your ticket to account for the time the site has been closed.

The amount of time that your ticket is extended will be the amount of days our sites have been closed and that you were unable to visit.

To add the extra time onto your existing ticket, you will need to use the portal below so that we can locate you within our system.

Click on the Ticket Extension Portal here

You will need to enter your Visitor ID number, First Name, Last Name and Postcode.

Once you click to validate your ticket, our ticket portal will locate you within our database and you will get emailed details of your new, extended pass within the next few hours as a ticket attachment. This tells the people on the gate that your original ticket has been extended.

You will need to put in the same details you used when you bought your ticket - if you don't then the system may error as it cannot locate you.

Once your ticket has been 'validated' by our database, you can now log into the returning customer portal and book your time slot into your museum - details about how to do this are below.

BOOKING YOUR TIME SLOT

We need to ensure that we keep our visitors safe, and therefore we require all visitors to book a time slot to visit each of the museums. This is to ensure that we monitor capacity and can maintain social distancing at all times.

So you have extended your valid or expired National Museum of the Royal Navy ticket and you now want to visit, what do you have to do?

  • Visit our Returning Customer Portal which can be found here.
  • Put in your 16 digit pass ID found on your original ticket and on your original confirmation email and click enter – this will open the returner tickets which will have a £0 value ticket
  • Book the date and time slot and complete your transaction
  • You will receive a Print at Home ticket that you will need to bring with you. This will be scanned on entry to the Dockyard, Gosport, Yeovilton or Hartlepool.
  • You don’t need to print this ticket – they can be scanned on your phone but you WILL need to show it to gain access

WHAT DO I NEED TO SHOW AT THE GATE?

If you have extended your existing ticket, or have bought a new ticket, you will need to show the following on your arrival:

  • Your original Ticket/New Ticket - either printed out or on your phone
  • Your NMRN Time Booking Confirmation ticket

NB - You will need a new time slot for every time you want to visit one of our sites!
