We love to hear how much our couples enjoyed their wedding day at the National Museum of the Royal Navy. From the illustrious allure of HMS Warrior to the magnificent high vaulted ceilings of the Grand Magazine, we had the pleasure of talking to Martin and Edward as they reflect on their special day.
In August 2023, The National Museum of the Royal Navy had the delight of welcoming Edward and Martin for their wedding ceremony onboard HMS Warrior located in Portsmouth’s Historic Dockyard.
Opting to have a ceremony only wedding with close friends and family, the Captain’s Cabin was the ideal option seating up to 25 guests comfortably. When deciding where to host their ceremony, Edward and Martin fell in love with the uniqueness of HMS Warrior as it presented a ‘wow factor’ for guests and plenty of opportunities for photos on the top deck with views across Portsmouth Harbour.
From first viewing to the wedding day itself our friendly events team with their wealth of knowledge were on hand to help with every aspect of planning, with Edward and Martin saying:
‘Exceptional, we could not have asked for more! A genuinely friendly service, a big thank you to Lucy and her colleagues’.
Using our carefully handpicked suppliers to ensure a seamless service, celebratory drinks were supplied by Camber Wines and a delicious finger buffet was provided by Pastry Corner who are based in Southsea.
Q&A with Martin and Edward:
1, What was your favourite part of the day?
The whole ceremony! Despite our obvious nerves we had the most amazing ceremony, surrounded by friends and family.
2, What would you have done differently?
Nothing, the day was amazing and everything was taken care of by HMS Warrior's wedding planning team.
3, What advice do you have for others wishing to plan their wedding with us?
Plan early to secure the venue and visit the ship to ensure the unique surrounding is suitable for your wedding. It was perfect for us.
