Please Note- The PSS Wingfield Castle is currently closed to visitors, sorry for any inconvenience.
Opening hours
Summer: (April 2019– 3rd November 2019) 10.00am – 5pm daily
Winter: (4th November 2019 – March 2020) 11am – 4pm daily
We recommend that you allow at least 3 hours for your visit to us. We may sometimes be required to close the ship early due to conservation, maintenance and private functions. We advise that you give us a call on 01429 860077.
Using Tesco Clubcard vouchers

The Quayside Coffee Shop
Relax and unwind in our Georgian-themed coffee shop nestled within the historic quayside with views of the ship where you can grab a cold or hot drink.
We have a range of light bites including sandwiches, soups, jacket potatoes, pastries and cakes. You can also grab something for the younger sailors with our under the sea lunch boxes.

By Car
From the north
Take A19 southbound and exit at the A179. Follow the brown signs to the NMRN. When you reach the roundabout at the top of Maritime Avenue with a large buoy in the middle.
Head for the masts of HMS Trincomalee. Take the second left then the next left again which will bring you to our car park.
From the south
Take A1M northbound and exit at junction 49 (A168/A19) signposted Teesside. Exit A19 at the A689 and follow the brown signs to the NMRN. Keeping going straight on at each set of lights and each roundabout.
When you come to the lights at the junction between Victoria Road and Stockton Street, Wilkinsons is on your left, go straight ahead, past Asda and Boots and with Dunelm on your left, take the 4th exit at the roundabout. Head for the masts of HMS Trincomalee. Take the second left then the next left again which will bring you to our car park.
Public Transport
We are only a 7 minute walk away from Hartlepool train station and the Hartlpeool transport interchange. For more information about trains & buses click here for the Connect Tees Valley website.
Accessibility
The National Museum of the Royal Navy Hartlepool takes access to our on-site attractions seriously. When exploring the historic quayside, wheel chairs and pushchairs can access all eternal areas of the area.
There are several toilets onsite including disabled facilities. Baby changing facilities are also offered. Those in need of a wheelchair can request one on the day – please bear in mind we have limited availability. We also offer free parking onsite including disabled parking as well.
Lift access is available to visitors and can be accessed inside Fighting Ships and onboard HMS Trincomalee. However, there is restricted access to the Children’s Adventure Playship and to the lowest deck of HMS Trincomalee.
