IT Technician – 1st Line Support

Salary:  £16,575 - £18,500 per annum


37.5 hours per week – Monday to Friday

The National Museum of the Royal Navy (NMRN) is recruiting for an IT Technician to join our small and friendly IT team, primarily based at Portsmouth.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is looking for the right role to start their IT career in a unique and varied environment. 

Acting as first line and project support – you will be setting up new computers and installing and troubleshooting software and hardware problems. You will also help to support our interactive gallery displays across all museums.

• Support the implementation of new IT projects including the transition from Windows 7 to 10 and the introduction of a new Citrix/Xenapp environment

Knowledge/Experience

You must demonstrate a keen interest in developing your IT skills, working across a virtual Windows environment with other off the shelf applications to support, across a geographically diverse organisation.

Previous experience of IT is desirable, however you should have a good understanding and keen enthusiasm for IT. In addition, the ability to organise and prioritise workload, meet changing demands and comply with tight deadlines is essential.
