Hartlepool Rum Festival – 11 August 2018

Event Date:
Saturday, 11 August 2018 - 7:30pm to 11:00pm

Following the success of the rum festival at Portsmouth Historic Dockyard in 2017, The National Museum of the Royal Navy are bringing rum to the north for this brand new event.

Join us on Saturday 11 August around our authentically recreated quayside and aboard 19th century HMS Trincomalee, Europe’s oldest fighting ship still afloat. There will be lashings of rum tastings and talks around our authentically recreated quayside and aboard HMS Trincomalee! Plus, enjoy rum-related masterclasses and plenty of live entertainment to keep your spirits up.

HMS Trincomalee, which celebrated her bicentenary in 2017, is a perfect tribute to Hartlepool’s seafaring tradition and remains an important example of Nelson's powerful frigates.

Listen to our experts talk you through the history of the navy's signature beverage, tour the ship, be entertained by the musical stylings of The Endeavours, and walk away with a commemorative tot glass.

Plus, feel the Polynesian spirit in our Old J Spiced Rum hosted Tiki room. Old J Spiced Rum is infused with 11 flavours and comes in several varieties. It is the only Spiced Rum to win Master Status Gold at The Rum Masters, with the Tiki Fire variety taking Silver for their overproof category. Find the Tiki room and enjoy a cocktail bar, exclusive entertainment from Pek & Wanley, and free gifts for everyone who can find it!

Alnwick, Pusser’s. English Spirit and Old J Rum are already confirmed. With heaps of further brands set to be announced ahead of the festival, make sure you get your tickets fast!

Please drink responsibly.
