Family & Early Years projects

Early Years - a youngster enjoying our play area

As part of our Heritage Lottery funded Storehouse 10: New Galleries project we will be running special projects for families and Early Years learners in 2013.

Welcome Home!

Currently we are working with naval families on a project focusing on the impact of the naval service on family life. As part of this project children from current naval families are working with an artist to create an original artwork to be displayed in the new galleries.

Big Book storytelling

We are looking for local families to work with a professional storyteller and illustrator during 2013 to create a Big Book and Family Trail for our new galleries. As part of the project families will have the chance take part in creative storytelling and art activities at the Museum with the aim of creating an exciting new resource for future family visitors. For details, or to take part in the project, please contact:

Family Focus Group

This group meets approximately 4 times a year to advise on the development of family-orientated interpretation and interactives for our new galleries as well as the holiday activity programme and special events. If you would like to join this group and work with us to help make the new galleries family-friendly please contact:
