Team Member (Café) 

Salary:  £5,616 per annum pro rata (£9.00 per hour)
Contract: Permanent
Hours:  12 hours per week, working Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 10am – 2pm.
There is the opportunity to work paid additional shifts, primarily at weekends and during school holidays.

We are recruiting for a Team Member to join our friendly visitor experience team working in a unique heritage environment. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals looking for a customer facing role to deliver a first-class visitor experience at our exceptional attraction.

Reporting to the Visitor Experience Managers and Supervisors, this varied role is pivotal in creating the NMRN’s vision to become the world’s most inspiring Naval Museum.

We are looking for friendly and outgoing individuals who will be confident engaging with our audiences. Whether you are serving customers, upselling, making drinks, merchandising, clearing tables, or cash handling, you will thrive in a fast-paced environment and always be willing to go the extra mile. You will play a key role in helping the Museum achieve a high standard in food safety and satisfy hygiene obligations. We want every visitor to have an extraordinary and enriching experience, every time they visit.

Key Opportunities

• This is a varied role although primary focus is as part of the Museum café team, there will also be occasional opportunities to work in our shop and within our galleries.

• Ability to work as part of a great team engaging with visitors and ensuring they are having a fantastic time within a unique heritage working environment.


You will have:

• Basic catering experience (essential), and a positive and helpful attitude.

• Basic knowledge of Food Hygiene and Health and Safety requirements and a willingness to learn more.

• An interest in developing knowledge of the Royal Navy’s stories and heritage to share with visitors and colleagues.
