The National Museum of the Royal Navy is ten years old.  We tell the epic story of the Royal Navy and its fighting arms.  Our vision is to be the world’s most inspiring naval museum, enabling people to enjoy, learn and engage with this epic story and its impact in shaping the modern world.

With our headquarters in Portsmouth Historic Dockyard we have grown rapidly in our first decade; from 325,000 to 1.3 million visitors. Our story is told through the largest historic fleet in the world, from the Nation’s Flagship HMS Victory to the heroic Falkland war landing craft Foxtrot 7 – we care for capital ships, frigates, submarines, airplanes and nuclear bombs. Our museums have truly national reach with sites in Portsmouth, Gosport, Yeovilton, Belfast and Hartlepool.

Your new role

As part of the busy Trade and Groups Sales Office, you will oversee the processing of all advanced group bookings. From logging enquiries received to issuing confirmations, you will ensure that all necessary documentation is received.

You will be the customer service point of contact through to day of visit and beyond and you should have experience of delivering outstanding customer care service.

The role also has the responsibility of developing and maintaining long term professional relationships with external business partners along with internal stakeholders.

What will you need?

The ideal candidate will need to have:

• Excellent communication skills
• A professional telephone manner
• A high level of attention to detail
• A solid administrative background
• Excellent time management skills

You must be self-motivated, an excellent team player and ideally have an interest in history and heritage.
