Salary:  £9.00 +13.5% holiday pay per hour (£10.22 per hour)
Casual Staff are required to cover for staff sickness and holiday, and additional hours primarily at weekends and school holidays

The National Museum of the Royal Navy (NMRN) is recruiting for Casual Team Members to join our team working in a unique heritage environment. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals looking for a customer facing role to deliver a first-class visitor experience in all our exceptional attractions at Portsmouth Historic Dockyard.

Reporting to the Visitor Experience Managers and Supervisors, this varied role is pivotal in creating the NMRN’s vision to become the world’s most inspiring Naval Museum.

We are looking for friendly and outgoing individuals who will be confident engaging with our audiences. We want every visitor to have an extraordinary and enriching experience, every time they visit. As a Team Member you’ll ‘make it happen’ whether you're welcoming visitors on arrival, serving on the tills or positioned out and about engaging within our galleries, ships and shops.

Key Opportunities

• Selling tickets and merchandise in our shops and Visitor Centre.

Knowledge/Experience

• Experience of working in a customer focused environment with retail and sales knowledge an advantage, but not essential, as full training will be given.

• Basic knowledge of Health and Safety and Security requirements and a willingness to learn more.

• The ability to communicate and engage with a wide and varied audience.
