Salary (Grade 3): £20,140 per annum dependent upon experience (there is opportunity to apply for pay progression after >12 months of service).
Hours: 37.5 hours per week; hours will include working unsociable hours and weekends

Location: Work across National Museum of the Royal Navy in Portsmouth Historic Dockyard; Submarine Museum and Explosion in Gosport

We are recruiting for an Assistant Events Manager to join our team working in a unique heritage environment. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking for an events management role to deliver a first-class experience in all our exceptional attractions at Portsmouth Historic Dockyard and Museums based in Gosport.
This role reports to the Events Manager and this varied role is pivotal in supporting the NMRN’s vision to become the world’s most inspiring Naval Museum.  We run events ranging from weddings, parties, conferences, drinks receptions, VIP dinners onboard our historic vessels. 
Key Opportunities
• Managing a variety of events in our unique heritage environment and locations, e.g., HMS Victory, HMS Warrior, The Grand Magazine in Gosport with a range of clientele.
• Motivating and inspiring the team to deliver great events and keep people returning for more!
• Working closely with the Events Managers in Portsmouth and Gosport to deliver income targets and pursuing income generation leads to help conserve our fantastic collections for future generations.
• Creating and developing revenue generating events and functions.

The ideal candidate will have a positive and ‘can do’ attitude along with demonstratable knowledge of:

• The events business and customer service.
• Motivating and inspiring teams.
• Basic Health and Safety and a willingness to learn more.
