Salary:  £9.64 +13.5% holiday pay per hour (£10.94 per hour)
Casual Staff are required to for specific events, the hours would be primarily at weekends and school holidays

Location: National Museum of the Royal Navy, Portsmouth Historic Dockyard, Portsmouth.

The National Museum of the Royal Navy (NMRN) is recruiting for Casual Actors to join our team working in a unique heritage environment. This is an exciting opportunity for talented performers to be involved with our public events team. Casual Actors will entertain and engage with visitors using the unique setting of Portsmouth Historic Dockyard, bringing particular stories and events to life. You will delve into various roles and characters bringing our plethora of public events to life in a unique and engaging way.


We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:

• Using performance to entertain and encourage more active engagement from visitors.
• Work within a unique heritage environment.
• To put the audience at the heart of every production. Learn and help create scripts, take direction and use improvisation where necessary.
• Work independently or with a team of actors in outdoor and indoor spaces.
• To deliver an outstanding level of customer care to all of our visitors.


The ideal candidate will have:

• A qualification or recent relevant experience in performance arts. 
• Display an interest in Royal Navy history and Heritage with a willingness to learn more. 
• Applicants must have experience of performing in open air spaces as well as performing with other actors and on own to large groups of people.
• Experience in a customer service role preferable.
