Our donors at the Royal Launch

On 24th of June, our donors and supporters travelled down from different parts of the country to attend the Royal Launch of the Battle of Jutland Exhibition at Portsmouth Historic Dockyard.

Among them, Jonathan and April Howlett, our VIP Crowdfunding Supporters who contributed to Jack Cornwell Campaign, which raised funds for the restoration of the Jack Cornwell Charcoal Sketch that is now featured at 36 Hours: Jutland 1916, The Battle That Won The War.

In the video below, Jonathan talks about what he thinks about the sketch and how he feels about supporting the restoration of the sketch.

Part of the opening ceremony was the unveiling of the HMS Hood bell, which was rung symbolically 8 times by the HRH The Princess Royal in memory of  HMS Hood's crew.

Victoria Edwards, the Jack Cornwell Badge Awardee also attended the VIP opening. She is the only Girl Scout in Hampshire that holds the award. In 2013, four British members were awarded the Cornwell Scout Badge (one posthumously), out of a total youth membership of 433,850. Victoria is a very inspirational young lady, who as she says herself, looks up to Jack Cornwell. She had supported our Jack Cornwell Crowdfunding Campaign back in November 2015 by sharing her story in the video promoting the campaign. Below is a photo of her with the Jack Cornwell Sketch and a video in which she is sharing her impressions of it.

Once again we would like to thank all our donors and supporters for their invaluable contribution to our projects and enthusiasm for our work. We could not have done it without you.
