Book Your Visit Hartlepool

NMRN Hartlepool

We are introducing a new way of welcoming you to the National Museum of the Royal Navy Hartlepool, so we have created some guidelines so you fully understand how to visit us when we re-open.

As a result of COVID-19, we have had to make some slight changes to how we welcome you back to the National Museum of the Royal Navy Hartlepool.

We now have allocated time slots in order to manage capacity on-site to ensure your safety when visiting.

Buy Your Ticket Now

Once you have bought your ticket and visited, you will be emailed out a Returner ID number. This is what you will need to use moving forward to book your time slot.

N.B. - If you have an existing ticket that needs to be extended, the instructions are below, and once you have gone through the portal, you will book your visit slot by following the instructions below.

So you have extended your valid or expired National Museum of the Royal Navy Hartlepool ticket and you now want to visit,

What to do:

  1. Visit our Returning Customer Portal which can be found here.
  2. Put in your 16 digit pass ID found on your original ticket and on your original confirmation email and click enter – this will open the returner tickets which will have a £0 value ticket
  3. Book the date and time slot and complete your transaction
  4. You will receive a Print at Home ticket that you will need to bring with you. This will be scanned on entry to the museum.
  5. You don’t need to print this ticket – they can be scanned on your phone but you WILL need to show it to gain access to the site.

If your ticket has expired during the time that we have been closed, or you have a ticket that was purchased prior to our temporary closure and is still valid, we are adding an extension to your ticket to account for the time the site has been closed.

The amount of time that your ticket is extended will be the number of days our sites have been closed and that you were unable to visit.

To add the extra time to your existing ticket, you will need to use the portal below so that we can locate you within our system.

What to do:

  1. Click on the Ticket Extension Portal here
  2. Enter your Visitor ID number, First Name, Last Name and Postcode. Your visitor ID number can be found on your original ticket and is 16 digits long!
  3. Once you have entered your details, click on the button to validate your ticket. Our ticket portal will locate you within our database and you will get emailed details of your new, extended pass within the next few hours as a ticket attachment. This tells the people on the gate that your original ticket has been extended and you have had the length of time closed added to your original ticket.
You will need to put in the same details you used when you bought your ticket - if you don't then the system may error as it cannot locate you. If this happens, don't worry, you can email the Hartlepool team on and the customer service team can help you. We are experiencing very high volumes of people getting in touch, so we will come back to you and resolve your issues within 5 working days.
  4. Once your ticket has been 'validated' by our database, you can now log into the returning customer portal detailed above and book your time slot into your museum.

We know this is a bit complicated, but we want to be able to make sure you all get more time to enjoy our museum safely.

For those of you that have extended your tickets, or for those of you visiting for the first time, please can you bring:

  • Your Original Ticket
  • Your NMRN Time Booking Confirmation ticket (which will have been emailed to you once you have booked your time slot)

You will need to book a time slot for every time you want to come back and these will be scanned in and out of the museum.

You are more than welcome to still visit the Museum of Hartlepool for free, however, we have had to add time slots to be able to maintain social distancing and the government requirements for Track and Trace.

To book your timeslot, please click on the Museum of Hartlepool link to book your visit.
